COMSOL Simulation in the Department PC
Comsol Computer
In our department we run COMSOL on a dedicated machine (PC100) under a Floating Network License (FNL).
The Computer is a Dell T7820 equipped as following:
- 2 X Intel Xeon Gold 6146 3,2 GHz, 4,2 GHz Turbo, 12 core, 24,75 MB Cache
- M.2-PCIe-NVMe-SSD-harddrive (Klasse 40), 512 GB
- 192 GB of RAM
- NVIDIA Quadro P400, 2 GB
COMSOL 5.4 Update 4 (05.06.2019):
- AC/DC Module
- RF Module
- Wave Optics Module
Floating Network License (FNL)
Support for remote computing includes using Windows® Remote Desktop. In addition, this license type allows access to the COMSOL computational engine using a client. For example, you can run the graphical user interface on an inexpensive local machine, while offloading the heavy computations to a remote high-end machine. Cluster and cloud computing is supported on Windows® and Linux® platforms. For local use, there is no restriction on the number of simultaneous sessions that one concurrent user may run. With respect to cluster computing and cluster sweeps, a single model may be run on multiple compute nodes with no restriction on the number of compute nodes.
